
procedural chandeliers in houdini
I wanted to procedurally generate the curves instead of modeling them by hand, so here I am, growing these things like tentacles! or vines? They look nice and filigree-like enough to be chandeliers, and you can get some interesting results just playing with the curvature and offset!
I don't think this is useful to anyone except for this fun little experiment though! If I were to write a procedural chandelier generation tool for an actual purpose? Like in a game, or to actually be used in things? I probably would use a handmade curve as input rather than these crazy ones…
